Do I need a visa?

US citizens do not need a visa for Ireland for stays under 90 days. Check with your country's embassy if you hold a different passport.

What currency does Ireland use?

Euro (€). Credit cards are widely accepted, but carry some cash for small shops and pubs. ATMs are available in Kenmare.

What's the weather like in July?

Expect 15–20°C (59–68°F) with a mix of sun and rain. Pack layers and a rain jacket. July is one of the driest months, but this is Ireland!

Do I need a rental car?

Strongly recommended. Kenmare itself is walkable, but day trips require a car. We'll coordinate carpools for group outings.

Which side of the road do they drive on?

LEFT side. Steering wheel is on the right. Take it slow the first day — roundabouts go clockwise.

Is there WiFi?

Yes — most accommodations, restaurants, and pubs have WiFi. Consider getting a local SIM or international plan for data on the go.

Can I drink the tap water?

Yes, Irish tap water is safe and excellent.

What about tipping?

Tipping is appreciated but not mandatory in Ireland. 10% at restaurants is generous. No need to tip at pubs.
